RA Minister of Energy infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan met with Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Armenia office Shane Rosenthal on September 22. The programs implemented with the support of the Bank in the field of energy and the possibilities of further cooperation were discussed.
The interlocutors particularly touched upon the construction of "Shnogh HPP", investment programs in high-voltage electric networks. Shane Rosenthal informed the minister, that recently he and the Armenian investment club discussed the "Shnogh HEK" program and the possibility of ADB's participation in its implementation.
Speaking about Armenia's recent decision by the Government of High Voltage Electric Networks to entrust trust management, Ashot Manukyan presented its goals and significance. The issue of construction of the Armenia-Georgia high-voltage line and the upgrading and technical re-equipment of 6 substations of High Voltage Electric Networks were highlighted in the context of the implementation of regional energy projects.
The meeting also discussed the process of implementation of the SCADA system and the forthcoming steps to expand the automated management and data collection system supported by ADB.
